Chocolate is the ultimate indulgence, rich, silky, dark or milky, whatever version you choose, you are definitely not going to be disappointed. Its magical, it can brighten your day, improve your mood, and in my opinion is the most comforting of go-to comfort foods. Apparently, chocolate is one of the most popular foods on the planet, for good reason too… there is simply nothing quite like it. It is a divine gift from the gods quite frankly. There are hundreds and thousands of ways to use cocoa in dessert recipes and this addition automatically transforms the dessert into something special and even if for a moment, lends its unforgettable properties to create a one-of-a-kind richness that can only come from consuming cocoa that has been strategically paired with complimenting ingredients. All kinds of nuts or dried fruit are excellent examples of perfect combinations with chocolate. Chocolate is my favorite candy and I am a self proclaimed chocoholic. Many people share the same love for anything chocolate and in most cases since their early childhood years. I began making chocolate balls just as a simple eye-catching and delicious dessert simply because there is nothing similar that is readily available in stores, bakeries or coffee shops. You can however buy cake pops which I personally despise. They are usually made from packaged cake mix and are a cheap way to make a pop on a stick that appears to look somewhat enticing.
I decided to make chocolate balls with premium ingredients, (no cake here) but nutty goodness encompassed in rich dark or white chocolate. You can refer to these balls as truffles but thats not quite the accurate term for these various flavoured decadent bombs. These balls are fun to make and they are sure to satisfy the most serious of cravings. They make perfect gifts for that special someone, are ideal for any occasion/celebration or gathering. Children love them too. They are handmade with love and that love is passed along every time these treats are gifted.
