PASSIONATE ABOUT FOOD

Welcome to my Kitchen - my Creative Space!!!

So I have finally decided to create a blog and to unleash my creative spark that has been dormant for the longest time. I am a graphic designer by trade but have always been passionate about preparing food and culinary arts since childhood. I can remember being three or four years old and watching my mothers every move in the kitchen from a high chair when she was preparing food for dinner parties or just everyday dinners. Then it happened, one day I was given a dull knife so I could take part in the action by helping to chop up vegetables and/or other ingredients. I was as happy as could be. As a child I found the process of preparing and cooking food absolutely fascinating and I remember watching shows like “WOK WITH JAN” in the eighties and being glued to the tv just watching everything come together like a work of art, only to be presented for visual appeal and then later devoured by a select number of viewers.

If someone were to tell me a year ago that I would be making videos or reels of me in my kitchen cooking and then later coming up with desserts that I intended to sell, I would say that they were crazy. But that is exactly what happened. I began losing weight when I modified my lifestyle and I started cooking and making new dishes to fit my new lifestyle, I realized that I could eat healthy, delicious and appetizing foods that looked visually appealing and that it didn’t take that much time at all to prepare all these new things. Once I began trying out new recipes, I couldn’t stop experimenting! I was so sick of the old rotating menu I had been used to for years that I hated making meals because it was a boring chore that had to be done just for the sake of eating. In today’s world there are thousands if not millions of recipes that can be found online for just about any meal, occasion, or craving that you are having. There is such an abundance of information that its hard to decide sometimes what to choose. I began trying out new recipes and tweaking them to suit my taste preferences. What started out as me adding variety to a very stale menu, quickly turned into an exodus from old habits and I adopted a new perspective when it came to cooking, baking or preparing any type of food. Excitement took over me when I entered my kitchen to create.
